Over this summer I have come to many realizations and one main "theme" you could say is, moving on.
Letting go and not resisting what happens is something I always work to remember and, when I forget, seems to reappear when I am not looking (like most things in life). Sometimes we lose friends, really good friends, and it hurts. At the time we don't see it, but what life is really doing is that it is making room for better ones. We don't understand at first. We feel like fools or we feel hurt and confused. I did anyway, but later saw that it was all out of my control and had to accept it.
Holding grudges and being mad gets us nowhere! We are only hurting ourselves internally and later on, physically, when we hold this stuff in and do not come to terms. The body mimics the mind believe it or not and sooner or later what we hold inside, appears outside. Much like in exercise, if we are not focused we don't get the benefit of the workout. We see little to no results.
When you get "hung up" or lost in your thoughts next time, take a deep breath and focus only on your inhale and exhale, notice as it cuts right through your thoughts and lets the light in. This is simple but may take some practice. Just keep it in mind and use it even when you are in a calm or somewhat peaceful situation to make it a habit.
“Moving on, is a simple thing, what it leaves behind is hard.”
